COPD & Asthma

The goal at Park Place Family Practice is to prevent trips to the hospital as much as possible. We treat COPD patients acutely through the use of breathing treatments and steroids. The key to managing COPD is to avoid triggers. Patients are encouraged to quit smoking and medications are prescribed as necessary to help control symptoms.

Asthma is an inflammation of the lung airways that can cause coughing, chest tightness, wheezing or shortness of breath. Without treatment, over time irreversible lung damage can occur. Park Place Family Practice works with our patients to develop individualized plans for avoiding triggers and controlling symptoms.
